Women-only rides

Female-only carpool seats in Pakistan — how they work, and how to find them.

Yes — women-only rides exist on Sawarri. When a driver publishes a ride they can mark it women-only, and passengers can filter the board to show only those seats. It is not a separate app or a different standard: it is the same ride board, narrowed to the seats you are comfortable taking, with the same verification behind every driver.

How women-only rides work

  • Marked at the source. The driver sets women-only when they publish, so the restriction travels with the ride rather than being requested afterwards. You never have to ask a stranger for it and hope.
  • One filter, the whole board. Turn it on from the search and every result you see is a women-only seat.
  • The same verification. Women-only rides go through exactly the same identity, licence and vehicle checks as every other ride. Nothing is relaxed.
  • Female drivers are labelled. Rides where the driver is a woman are marked as such, so if that matters to you it is visible before you request a seat.
  • Speak to them first. Call or WhatsApp the driver and confirm the pickup before you book anything.

How to find them

Open women-only rides and the board is already filtered. You can then narrow it by route and date like any other search. If nothing is listed for your route today, post the trip you need on Offer a ride — drivers making that run can pick it up, which is usually faster than refreshing.

What is checked before a driver can post

Our team checks the driver's CNIC, driving licence, vehicle and number plate. A driver who has passed that carries a verified badge on every ride they post, and you can see it before you request a seat. A driver who has not is shown as not verified — the ride is still listed, but you are told plainly, so check the car and the plate before you get in. More on all of this on the safety page.

Travelling with someone you have not met

The filter and the badge are the first step, not the last. A few habits matter more than any feature: match the car and number plate against what the ride says, speak to the driver before you get in, meet somewhere public and well lit, and send your trip details to someone you trust.

  • Share your ride. Once a booking is approved, send the route, date, time, driver and seat details to family in one tap.
  • Keep SOS in reach. Your dashboard holds an emergency contact and an SOS button for use during a trip.
  • Report or hide. Not comfortable with someone? Report them to our team, or hide them from your results instantly. It is not a negotiation — you do not have to justify it.
  • A booking is a request. The driver has to approve it, and you can equally walk away. Neither side is locked in.

Common questions

Are women-only rides driven by women?

Not necessarily. Women-only means the seats are for women passengers. Some rides are also driven by a woman and are labelled separately, so if that matters to you, you can tell the difference on the board.

Does a women-only ride cost more?

No. The fare is set by the driver, exactly as on any other ride, and Sawarri takes no commission and adds nothing on top. Being women-only does not change the price.

Can I book a women-only ride for someone else?

The seat you book should be for the person actually travelling, and the driver needs to know who is coming. Tell them when you agree the pickup.

What if a driver breaks the women-only rule?

Report it. Use the report option on the ride or booking, or the contact page, and the account is reviewed. A driver can be removed from the platform.

Ready to share a ride?

Free for passengers. Drivers post their first five rides free.
