Driving from Faisalabad to Lahore or Islamabad? How to fill your empty seats on the motorway

Faisalabad is one of the biggest cities in the country, and a lot of it travels: students going back to university, textile and trade staff heading to meetings, families going home for the weekend. Many of those trips are made by car with one or two people in it. If you are the driver, sharing the spare seats is the easiest way to cut what the trip costs you.

The routes Faisalabad drivers already make

• Faisalabad to Lahore — usually via the M-4 to Pindi Bhattian and then the M-2, or the shorter road through Sheikhupura. Plan on roughly two and a half to three hours.
• Faisalabad to Islamabad and Rawalpindi — the M-4 to Pindi Bhattian, then north on the M-2. Roughly four hours.
• Faisalabad to Multan — south on the M-4 through Gojra and Shorkot.
• Nearby towns — Jhang, Sargodha, Chiniot and Toba Tek Singh, where many people commute or go home at weekends.

Where to pick up

Choose points on your own route out of the city. Common ones are the Clock Tower (Ghanta Ghar) area, D Ground, Jhang Road, Sargodha Road, and the motorway interchange on your way out. Students often ask for the University of Agriculture or GC University side. List the points you can genuinely stop at, and passengers will come to you.

How to post your ride

1. Sign up as a driver on Offer a ride.
2. Enter Faisalabad, your destination, and the pickup points you can stop at.
3. Add the date and time (or tick “daily commute”), choose seats and price, and publish.
