Karachi is enormous, which makes people assume its commute is chaotic. It is not. Look at a few hundred pick and drop offers together and the same five journeys come up again and again, because the city keeps its homes and its jobs in different places and there are only so many roads between them.

There are 48 rides posted through Karachi with seats still open on Sawarri as this is written. Sorted by where they are going, they fall into five groups.
The financial district is the single strongest pull in the city, and the cars come from everywhere. Currently posted: North Nazimabad leaving around 9:00 AM and returning 5:30 PM, Malir on the same 9-to-6 shape, and Shah Faisal Colony and Drigh Road running in to PNSC and Tower.
Almost all of these are Monday to Friday, almost all are both ways, and the departure clusters hard around 8:00 to 9:00 AM. If your office is anywhere between Shaheen Complex and the Tower, this is the busiest corridor to ask on.
The second big one, and the most forgiving, because the road is long and drivers will drop you anywhere along it. Offers run in from Federal B. Area, Malir, Gulistan-e-Jauhar and the Bufferzone and Ayesha Manzil side.
Watch the direction on this one. A fair number of Shahrah-e-Faisal listings are morning only, with no evening leg, so confirm the return before you treat it as a full commute.
The route everyone underestimates, because it cuts across the city rather than along it. Cars run from Scheme 33 and Quetta Town down the Lyari Expressway to HBL Tower at Teen Talwar, and from North Nazimabad and Sakhi Hassan to Clifton and Gizri.
These are the longest daily runs in the list and the ones where sharing saves the most. They are also where air conditioning is most often charged as an extra, so ask.
Different shift pattern, different crowd, and the one most often missed by people searching for an office carpool. Maskan Chowrangi to Korangi Creek is currently posted running via Gulshan, Water Pump, FB Area, Nazimabad, Jail Chowrangi, Shaheed-e-Millat and Baloch Pull — a genuinely long chain of pick-up points, which is normal here. See every live ride to and from Korangi.
On the other side of the city, Model Colony to SITE Area and Valika Hospital runs Monday to Saturday, leaving between 8:00 and 8:15 AM via Malir Halt, the airport, Karsaz, Stadium and Nazimabad. Saturday working is common on the industrial routes and almost unheard of on the banking ones.
Not every driver runs one fixed office route. Some offer a general service across a wide area — for example a car currently available out of Model Colony, Malir, Shah Faisal and Saudabad covering Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Shahrah-e-Faisal, Tariq Road, University Road and Nazimabad, charged either monthly or per ride.
These are flexible but vaguer. The thing to pin down is not the area list, it is the actual time the car leaves your gate.
Agree the pick-up point as a named chowrangi or gate rather than an area, confirm the evening departure separately from the morning one, ask what happens on holidays and on days you are away, and pay weekly until the arrangement has proved itself. The full checklist is in monthly pick and drop: how it works and what to agree up front.
On safety, the basics do the heavy lifting: check the car and number plate match what you were shown, meet in a public place the first time, and tell someone at home your route. See the safety guide, and carpooling safely as a woman in Pakistan if that applies to you.
Most of this still starts in Facebook and WhatsApp groups, where a good offer is buried under thirty messages by the next morning and nothing is searchable. Sawarri brings the same offers together and keeps them findable by route — see the Pick & Drop board, the city view at carpooling in Karachi, or carpool WhatsApp groups in Karachi for what those groups do well and where they fall down.
If you already drive one of these five corridors with empty seats, offer a ride. You set the rate, you keep all of it, and there is no commission.
