Sawarri then opens as a full-screen app. Your browser does the adding — here is where the option is:
Pick and drop is the quietest part of Lahore’s transport. There is no app for most of it, no brand, and no customer service number. Someone with a car is already driving from Bahria Orchard to Gulberg every morning, they have three empty seats, and they would rather share the fuel than burn it alone.

For a fixed five-day commute this is almost always cheaper than ride-hailing, and more reliable, because the same driver arrives at the same gate at the same time. The trade-off is that nothing is standardised. There is no platform enforcing a refund policy. What you agree at the start is what you get for the whole month — which is exactly why it is worth agreeing properly.
Lahore’s pick and drop has a very consistent shape. The large housing societies on the ring sit where the jobs are not, and the offices, hospitals and universities sit where parking is impossible. Almost every route is one of those edges feeding one of those centres.
Two things are worth noticing in that list. First, the pairs are not symmetrical — plenty of drivers run one way in the morning and nothing in the evening, so always ask about the return. Second, the timings are wider than you would expect. One route currently posted leaves Johar Town at 1:00 AM, because somebody works nights and the hospital shift does not care about office hours.
There are 29 rides posted through Lahore with seats still open on Sawarri as this is written, and the Pick & Drop board is the subset of them that run as a daily commute rather than a one-off trip.
A monthly figure sounds simple until the first public holiday. Ask whether the rate is for a fixed number of working days or the whole month, what happens on Saturdays, and whether anything changes if fuel prices move. Some drivers quote per day instead, which is easier to reason about and easier to stop.
Morning-only is extremely common and is often quoted at close to the two-way price by passengers who assumed otherwise. Confirm the evening departure time, not just that there is one.
“Johar Town” is not a pick-up point. A named gate, market or chowk is. Agree the exact spot and how long the driver waits — five minutes of ambiguity every morning becomes an argument by week two.
You are not hiring a car, you are joining one. Ask how many passengers there are, whether they are men or women or both, and where you sit. Many Lahore listings are explicitly for female passengers only, or already have women travelling, and drivers will tell you if you ask.
Cars break down and people take leave. Agree now what happens if the driver cannot come, and whether you pay for days you are away. Pay by the week until you trust the arrangement — nobody should hand over a full month to a stranger on day one.
There is a longer version of this checklist in monthly pick and drop: how it works and what to agree up front.
This is one of the most searched versions of the question in Lahore, and the honest answer is that supply exists but you have to ask for it directly. Some listings are specifically for female students and teachers on school timings. Others simply mention that a woman is already travelling in the car, which is usually what people are really trying to find out.
Ask before you commit, meet in a public place the first time, and check the car and number plate against what you were told. Sawarri has a women-only rides filter, and carpooling safely as a woman in Pakistan goes through this properly.
Most of these arrangements start in a Facebook or WhatsApp group, and the format is the problem: a seat posted at midnight is buried by morning and you cannot search “DHA Rahbar to Kalma Chowk, weekdays”. Sawarri collects the same offers and keeps them searchable by route, so the seat is still findable a week later.
Start with the Pick & Drop board, or read what the groups are good and bad at in carpool WhatsApp groups in Lahore. If you drive the route yourself and have a seat spare, offer a ride — you set the rate and keep all of it.
